In 1986 I became an entrepreneur here in Silicon Valley. Leaving the stability of a steady job was scary, but believing in myself and the value of my ideas provided the drive and motivation for eventual success.

The first startup, Digital RF Solutions (DRFS) was initially self-funded and later gained private investment. It merged with and into Proxim in 1991, which went public in 1994.

My second startup, Tropian, was also initially funded by the founding team. Venture capital investment was secured after our first prototype was working. Tropian was acquired by Panasonic in 2006.
